come to the edge of her prayer-field she pauses,
waters flown warmer in seasons beyond
winter-tossed cresting the shoreline before her,
ice surging bluffs the wintering storm
stretching forth waters the Spirit-turned heaven,
under-tree arching the waves freezing form
prayer given once in greenwood in Hamlin,
still yet G*d groaning, the world giving born.
“For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven…so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth:
it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please.” – Isaiah 55:10-11
