“my word shall go forth”

"For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven..."
“For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven…”

come to the edge of her prayer-field she pauses,
waters flown warmer in seasons beyond

winter-tossed cresting the shoreline before her,
ice surging bluffs the wintering storm

stretching forth waters the Spirit-turned heaven,
under-tree arching the waves freezing form

prayer given once in greenwood in Hamlin,
still yet G*d groaning, the world giving born.

________

“For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven…so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth:
it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please.”
– Isaiah 55:10-11
